Fluid circulates within the pipes and the fluid absorbs the heat. Eventually the fluid is placed back into the pump and it goes over a heat exchanger. Then the heat enters your property.

When you install a ground or air source pump, you might be eligible to receive payments from the government. These payments are part of the RHI, short for the renewable heat incentive. RHI has been around since 2014 and since then it has rewarded homes that use a renewable heating system with payments made over a quarterly basis; Over a seven-year period.

Air source pumps and ground pumps are expensive. You also have to pay installation fees. This varies from model to model and from company to company.
